摘要 A method of controlling an engine of an electronic stability program system for a vehicle is provided to stably turn the vehicle by controlling an engine based on a lateral acceleration and a yaw rate obtained during a turning movement of the vehicle. A method for controlling an engine of an electronic stability program system comprises the step of obtaining a function value based on a vehicle speed and a steering angle detected from the wheel speed sensor and the steering angle sensor, thereby estimating a real lateral acceleration(S110). A first lateral acceleration is measured based on a lateral acceleration detected by the lateral acceleration sensor during a real driving of the vehicle(S120). The real lateral acceleration is estimated by correcting the first lateral acceleration by using the vehicle speed and steering angle function values(S130). The engine is controlled based on the estimated real lateral acceleration(S160).
