A display device is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and the manufacturing steps while realizing a high contrast picture. Transistors are formed on a substrate. An insulating film(107) is formed on the transistors. A transparent conductive film(106) is formed on the insulating film. A reflecting conductive film(105) is formed on the transparent conductive film. A resist pattern including an area having thick film thickness and an area having film thickness thinner than the film thickness of the area is formed on the reflecting conductive film by using an exposure mask including a semi-transmitting part(101b). A transparent electrode made of the transparent conductive film and a reflecting electrode made of the reflecting film are formed by using the resist pattern.
