An electronic steering column lock device and a control method using the same are provided to prevent an abnormal operation of an ECSL(Electric Steering Column Lock) due to an irregular electrical impact and a noise. An electronic steering column lock device includes a key switch module(10), a driver authentication module(30), and a steering column lock module(50). The key switch module includes a key slot(12) to which a key(11) or a mobile terminal(31) is inserted, a start button(13), and an ignition sensor(15) for detecting insertion of the key into the key slot and press of the start button. The driver authentication module authenticates whether the inserted key is regular or whether the driver pressing the start button is an authorized driver. The driver authentication module includes the mobile terminal, a fixed terminal(32), and a power management module(33). The steering column lock module further includes a steering shaft fixing unit(70) and an ESCL control unit(60). The steering shaft fixing unit fixes a steering shaft(3) physically. The ESCL control unit controls a lock plate and a stopper. |
