An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to simultaneously form a color filter layer and a column spacer, thereby simplifying a manufacturing process and reducing manufacturing cost. An LCD includes a substrate(103), a black matrix(106) formed on the substrate, a color filter layer(108a,108c) formed on the substrate, a column spacer(142), and a common electrode(138). The color filter layer is formed of red, green and blue color resins. The column spacer is formed of the same material as the blue color resin through the same process as the process of forming the color filter layer. The common electrode is formed on the color filter layer and the column spacer. |
