A portable caption display of a microphone-type song accompaniment apparatus is provided to change a color of captions by synchronizing the captions with song accompaniment or by reading the captions of a song when a display panel is not equipped so as to display the captions of the song, thus a user is able to easily sing the song with the accompaniment. A display panel(21) displays captions. A backlight(18) illuminates the background of the panel(21) so that a user reads the captions irrespective of outside brightness. A USB(Universal Serial Bus) port(15) couples a wireless caption receiving module to wirelessly receive caption data. An ROM(Read Only Memory)(11) stores text data and a control program. A microprocessor(10) displays the caption data on the panel(21) by interworking the control program and the text data. An interface(19) interfaces the panel(21) with the microprocessor(10), and displays the caption data on the panel(21). A memory expansion slot(22) inserts a memory expansion pack where lyrics and song accompaniment are stored. A memory interface(20) displays the stored lyrics and song accompaniment on the panel(21). A unit synchronizes caption information with the song accompaniment to display the caption information by changing color.
