A plasma display device is provided to embody effectively black images by attaching an external light shielding sheet for shielding external light on a front surface of a panel. A filter is formed on a plasma display panel. The filter includes an external light shielding sheet(600) and an EMI shielding sheet. The external light shielding sheet includes a first base part and a first pattern part formed on the first base part. The EMI shielding sheet includes a second pattern part which is formed from a right top end to a left bottom end. The thickness of the external light shielding sheet is 1.01 to 2.25 times of the height of the first pattern part. An angle between the first and second pattern parts is 20 to 65 degrees.
