SLIDE TYPE MOBILE COMMUNICATION

A slide type mobile communication terminal is provided to minimize a mounting space for an actuator as a lens cover is moved by using a piezoelectric actuator so as to automatically open/close a camera lens and also reduce power consumption for the movement of the lens cover. A slider(120) is installed at a front surface of a main body of a mobile terminal in such a manner that the slider can slide up by two stages, and has a lens hole formed at the first side of the slider. A camera is installed inside the slider(120) in such a manner that the camera lens corresponds to the lens hole. A lens cover(140) slides between the lens hole and the camera lens to open/close the camera lens. A piezoelectric actuator is installed at the lens cover(140) while making friction contact with the lens cover(140) in order to move the lens cover(140). A position detecting unit(150) detects if the slider slides up to the second stages. A controller(160) receives information detected by the position detecting unit(150), and when it is determined that the slider has slid up to the second stages, performs a control operation such that the lens cover(140) can move in a direction of opening the camera lens.
