A display device is provided to increase a contrast ratio by displacing a plurality of polarizing plates from a parallel nichol state and thus reducing a light leakage in a transmissive shaft direction. A first transmissive substrate(101) is opposite to a second transmissive substrate(102). A display device is interposed between the first transmissive substrate and the second transmissive substrate. A plurality of polarizing plates(103,104) are accumulated at the outside of the first transmissive substrate or the second transmissive substrate. The accumulated polarizing plates are arranged by displacing transmissive shafts from a parallel nichol state.
