A plasma display device is provided to absorb and shield external light and secure simultaneously an aperture ratio of a panel by using an external light shielding sheet. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel and a filter installed on the front of the plasma display panel. The filter includes a base part(110) and a plurality of pattern parts(120). The pattern parts are formed on the base part. The pattern part includes a lower end, an upper inclined side, and a lower inclined side. The upper and lower inclined sides are connected to the lower end. The thickness of the external light shielding sheet is 1.01 to 1.5 times of the height of the pattern part. A first internal angle(theta1) between the upper inclined side and the lower end is different from a second internal angle(theta2) between the lower inclined side and the lower end. |
