The invention relates to a method for obtaining a modified high impact resistant acrylic sheet by prepolymerizing a monomer mix with a diluted dienic monomeric polymer, which is carried out in batches a low temperatures without separating the dienic monomeric polymer from the rest of the mix. The method disclosed in t he invention makes it possible to obtain a modified high impact resistant acrylic sheet whose transmittance is maintained after being subjected to accelerated degradation and whose impact resistance properties are preserved by more than 50 % after said accelerated degradation.
