METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING NEIGHBOR DISCOVERY PROTOCOL MESSAGE IN IEEE 802.16/WIBRO NETWORK

A method for transmitting an NDP(Neighbor Discover Protocol) message in an IEEE 802.16/WiBro network is provided to transmit the NDP message by implementing multicast transmission under a multi base station environment. A method for transmitting an NDP message in an IEEE 802.16/WiBro network includes the steps of: at a first base station(202), transmitting a neighbor discovery protocol message received from a first terminal to an access router(201); at the access router(201), transmitting the first neighbor discovery protocol message to the other base stations(203,204) except the first base station(202); at the access router(201), transmitting a second neighbor discovery protocol message corresponding to the first neighbor discover protocol to all base stations of a subnet; and at all base stations of the subnet, transmitting the second neighbor discover protocol message to a terminal included in a multicast group corresponding to a multicast address of the second neighbor discover protocol message.
