A character engraving apparatus for a numerical control machine and a recording medium thereof are provided to apply the character engraving apparatus to machining tools having different languages or formats by proposing a specific algorithm. A character engraving apparatus for a numerical control machine includes an attribute designating unit for designating attribute of a sentence to be engraved in a predetermined code; a macro designating unit for designating the ASCII code value of the characters used in the sentence as a macro; an attribute value input unit for retrieving the code and inputting the attribute value of the designated sentence; and a cutting command creating unit for creating cutting commands on the basis of the code and the attribute value input by the attribute input unit.
