A device for sealing an inlet part of a vertical annealing furnace is provided to effectively restrain external air from flowing into the furnace when components are worn out by modifying the sealing structure of a strip inflow part of the furnace. A device for sealing an inlet part of a vertical annealing furnace comprises: a seal roll(40) rotatably mounted on an inner side of an inlet of a seal box(10) and rotatably installed such that the seal roll is closely adhered to both surfaces of strip; a sealing felt(32) mounted on an inner surface of a cover(12) closed on the inlet of the seal box such that the sealing felt is closely adhered to the both surfaces of the strip; a sealing pad(30) mounted on the sealing felt such that the sealing pad is closely adhered to the surface of the seal roll; an inner sealing pad(50) disposed parallel to the sealing pad and mounted on an inner part of the seal box such that the inner sealing pad is closely adhered to the surface of the seal roll; an inner sealing felt mounted on the inner sealing pad such that the inner sealing felt is closely adhered to the surface of the seal roll; a gas feeding line(90) for feeding an inert gas into a sealed space formed by the seal roll, the sealing pad, the seal box and the inner sealing pad; and a pressing unit including a base(60), a pressing rod, a spring and a drive motor(70) to move the inner sealing pad toward the seal roll. |
