A location registration system and method of a mobile communication terminal and a location based service method are provided to obtain location information of the terminal without changing software of an existing mobile communication system and without influence or a load on the system, thereby offering a location based service through various methods. A probe server(20) is connected to a transmission path between a BSC(Base Station Controller)(11) and an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(12) to receive a message transceived between the BSC(11) and the MSC(12) by a predetermined protocol, and extracts an ID number of a mobile communication terminal and location information if the location information is included in the message. A location information server(30) receives the ID number of the terminal and the location information from the probe server(20) to store and manage the received number and information. |
