Transparent film made from PET and PEN with UV protection, process for producing the film, and use of the film in packaging with extended shelf life

The invention relates to a polyester film with a thickness of from about 4 to about 23 mum, which comprises, alongside polyethylene terephthalate as main constituent, from about 2 to about 20% by weight of polyethylene naphthalate (based on the weight of the film), and has fewer than 30 pinholes per 100 m². The invention further relates to a process for producing these films, and to the use of the films in packaging composites.
