A method and an apparatus for transmitting data using plural carriers are provided to improve a PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) in an encoding matrix by performing a pre-coding process in a time domain. An S/P converter(210) outputs a serial input sequence in a parallel formation. A pre-coding module(220) performs encoding in a time domain on a symbol vector. A DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) spreading module(230) performs spreading in a frequency domain by using a DFT matrix. A subcarrier mapping module(240) allocates the spread data vector to subcarriers. An IDFT(Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform) block(250) converts the data signal in the frequency domain into the time domain. A P/S converter module(260) outputs the parallel signal in series. A cyclic prefix inserting unit(270) inserts a safety guard for preventing an interference between OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols into an output signal.
