An infrared sensor mounting structure for an air filter is provided to insert infrared rays radiated from an infrared sensor to an inside of a housing of the filter for precisely sensing an amount of impurities accumulated in the air filter, which is in the corrugation shape. An infrared sensor mounting structure for an air filter includes a housing(50) detachably mounted in an air path, and a corrugation type filter(70) detachably mounted in the housing for filtering impurities contained in the air. An infrared sensor(80) is mounted at a side of the housing for radiating infrared rays to a side surface of the filter to sense an amount of the impurities. A guide(90) is mounted between the housing and the filter for keeping a predetermined distance between the infrared sensor and the filter.
