A PC equipped with a digital amplifier module and a method for controlling 5.1channel of the digital amplifier module are provided to completely output 5.1channel digital audio data without connecting to a receiver of an A/V device. An ADC(Analog/Digital Converter)(102) converts only a 5channel signal into a digital signal among the 5.1channel output from an audio codec IC(10). A pulse width modulator(104) modulates a pulse width of the converted signal. A digital amplifier(106) amplifies the modulated signal to a predetermined level. The first LPF(Low Pass Filter)(108) passes only the desired signal by removing the signal included in a predetermined band from the amplified signal. The second LPF(112) processes only the 1channel analog signal output from the audio codec IC. A controller(110) controls each component and is connected to a mute switch(114) for selectively restricting output of the 1channel analog signal passing the second LPF.
