An apparatus and a method for displaying a facial color on a mobile communication terminal are provided to change the color of a user's photograph into a color according to user's preference. An object is photographed(500). An image of the photographed object is output, and predetermined selection is performed for changing the color of the image(502). The first and second color difference signals are extracted from a selected pixel of the output image(506). It is determined whether difference values between the first and second color difference signals and the first and second target color difference signals of a typical color for changing the selected pixel are greater than the first and second threshold values(508). Scaling factors used to color transformer of the output image are calculated if the difference values are greater than the first and second threshold values(510).
