The method involves grinding remnants of compound material into fragments using a mill-like machine, and passing the fragments into an upper drum (3) for converting polyester component into balls. Plastic and sediment mixture is entered into a lower drum (9) via an outlet (8) and into a sediment bin (11) via an outlet (5). A part of the sediment taken from the bin is obtained, and a plastic and sediment is obtained via an outlet (20). The mixture from a homogenizer silo (14) is processed based on the final attainment of plastic component and separation of residual sediment traces.
