<p>1275768 Epoxy resin adducts CIBA-GEIGY AG 12 Sept 1969 [12 Sept 1968] 45224/69 Heading C3B Adducts, containing epoxy groups, are prepared by reacting one epoxide equivalent of a polyepoxide (I) containing an average of more than one glycidyl or #-methylglycidyl groups and at least one carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring with 0À03-0À4 equivalent of an acid polyester: R<SP>1</SP> is the hydrocarbon residue of an optionally hydrogenated dimer of a C 14-24 unsaturated fatty acid; A is a C 2-18 alkylene radical; Z= 1 or 2; and n = 1-20. I may be a polyglycidyl ether of a cycloaliphatic polyhydric alcohol or of a polyhydric phenol or a polyglycidyl ester, e.g. of tetrahydrophthalic acid. II may be derived from dimerized castor oil fatty acid or from oleic acid. The adducts may be cured by conventional epoxy resin hardeners.</p> |
