An apparatus and a method for processing images of an LCD are provided to suppress a flicker noise by sequentially displaying plural sub-frames generated by adding black data to original image frame data based on various patterns. An apparatus for processing images of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) includes a black data insertion unit and a driver. The black data insertion unit divides original digital image frame data information into plural sub-frame image data, which are mixed with black data. The driver sequentially supplies the sub-frame image data to an LCD panel during a display time for the original digital image frame data. The black data insertion unit includes a buffer memory for copying the original digital image frame data and a sub-frame generating unit for generating black image frame data based on the original digital image frame data.
