A suction assembly of a vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent a generation of a noise due to a collision between air particles by installing a noise reducing rib at a suction hole. A suction assembly of a vacuum cleaner includes a vacuum cleaner body, the suction assembly, and an elongated pipe. An elongated pipe connector and a flexible hose are connected to the elongated pipe. The suction assembly includes a bottom housing(124), a top housing, and a first noise reducing rib(127). A suction hole(124b) is formed at a center of the bottom housing for inducting an air containing dust of a surface to be cleaned. The suction hole is composed of a rectangular shape. A side wall is formed in a round shape with a predetermined height. A bottom of the suction hole is separated from a floor of the bottom housing at a predetermined distance.
