The element has a processing module (MT) to calculate connection paths within a transport network (R) with generalized multi protocol label switching (GMPLS) or MPLS control plan from traffic engineering data stored in a primary database (BD1). The module calculates provisional connection paths from provisional traffic engineering data, in a message of routing protocol e.g. open shortest path first protocol-traffic engineering (OSPF-TE), representative of a provisional topology and connectivity state of network and/or of provisional performance of the transport network.
