SIDE AIR BAG FOR AUTOMOBILE

A side air bag for a vehicle is provided to protect the head of a passenger by expanding first an air bag at a position where the head of the passenger is located. A side air bag is installed at a roof rail on the upper side of a driver's seat and a rear seat. The side air bag includes a driver seat side air bag(10) and a rear seat side air bag(20). In the driver seat side air bag, chamber walls dividing chambers(11a,11b,11c,11d,11e) protrude between the divided chambers and are curved toward the direction of the gas ejected from an inflator. The chamber farther from the inflator has a lager inner space and inlet section than the chamber closer to the inflator. Chambers(21a,21b,21c) in the rear seat side air bag are divided by chamber walls, and curved opposite to the chambers of the driver seat side air bag.
