The wall or partition (1) consists of two or more insulated panels (2), each made from two sheets of glass with a layer of gas between them and spacers round their edges. The spacers have a linear rigidity of at least 400 N/m and an outer surface covering that is impermeable to gases and liquids e.g. of metal. Panels are joined by fixing adjacent spacers together with an adhesive in a joint between 2.5 and 5 mm thick covered by a beading strip. One or more of the panels can have an internal accessory such as a slatted blind or plastic surface coatings.
