摘要 A lifting position monitor is disclosed. The lifting position monitor includes a case (20), attachment means (25) for securing the case to the upper torso of a wearer, and a microelectromechanical motion sensor arrangement (52) mounted within the case. The microelectromechanical motion sensor arrangement (52) responds to movements of the wearer, and which is encapsulated with solid state integrated signal processing means (51) to provide an output which represents movement, where the microelectromechanical motion sensor arrangement (52) responds to movement in three substantially orthogonal axes. The signal processing means provides respective outputs for each of the axis, and electronic data handling means (70) stores data derived from the output for use in the detection of potentially dangerous movement characteristics where the monitor establishes a datum position against which movements are measured, and the electronic data handling means is arranged to detect and store: ·movement patterns which are not potentially dangerous, including lifts which are executed from a squatting posture, dangerous movement patterns, including lifts which are executed from a bending posture and lifts which are executed with a twisting movement, and potentially dangerous movements, which could present a risk of long term injury through prolonged repetition, including movements which are executed too quickly. The stored information can be downloaded to a computer for more detailed analysis to provide a detailed history of movement practices of the wearer for cumulative risk assessment.
