A mobile terminal for providing direction information by a keypad, a mobile communication system having the same, and a method for providing a navigation service using the same are provided to easily provide direction information by using a keypad by including a location reading unit and a proceeding information creating unit and to be easily applied for various navigation systems. A location reading unit(1) recognizes a current location of a user and creates current location information. A proceeding information creating unit(2) extracts direction information from navigation data and creates proceeding information through the extracted direction information and the current location information. A keypad controller(3) selectively blinks a keypad(4) in order to display the proceeding information including a left turn or a right turn.
