STS MARKER SET FOR IDENTIFICATION OF SUBSPECIES IN RICE

A STS(sequence tagged site) marker set for identification of subspecies in rice is provided to discriminate two rice subspecies of indica and japonica, measure genetic recombination degree of rice, and develop a new variety of rice having high productivity and quality through combinations of useful traits in rice subspecies. The STS(sequence tagged site) marker set for identification of subspecies in rice comprises a primer set specific to the subspecies in rice containing 67 primers having the nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO:1 to SEQ ID NO:134 which are capable of discriminating rice subspecies of indica and japonica.
