An absent video message service method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to be capable of storing an absent video message in a sending terminal instead of storing the message in a video message server, thus deficiency of a storage space and a performance overload can be prevented. A sending terminal attempts video call origination to a receiving terminal which wants a video call(S10). A no-response notify message indicating that the receiving terminal does not answer is received from an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(S12). The video call is cancelled, and a video message recording mode is driven to record an absent video message(S14-S22). The receiving terminal transmits a message indicating that the absent video message to be received exists, to the MSC(S24,S26). The MSC transmits the message indicative of the existence of the absent video message to the receiving terminal(S28,S30). The receiving terminal attempts a call connection to the sending terminal to receive the absent video message(S32). If the absent video message exists in the sending terminal, transmission of the absent video message is requested to the sending terminal(S34,S38). The sending terminal sends the absent video message to the receiving terminal, and the receiving terminal sends a confirmation message indicating that the absent video message is confirmed, to the MSC(S40,S42).
