#CMT# #/CMT# The injector has a nozzle needle inserted coaxially in a hollow nozzle, such that a wall (11) of the nozzle includes several injection holes (2). The needle is movable between a closed position in which the needle closes the holes and open position, in which the needle releases a fuel passage via the holes towards a combustion chamber (4) of an internal combustion engine. One of the holes includes a main passage (21) and a secondary passage (22), where a physical structure of the main and secondary passages permits to form a cavitation zone at the level of intersection of the passages. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used in an internal combustion engine e.g. common rail type direct injection diesel engine, of a motor vehicle (all claimed) for injecting fuel in a combustion chamber. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The physical structure of the main and secondary passages permits to form the cavitation zone at the level of intersection of the passages, thus limiting a clogging phenomenon within the injection holes, and hence increasing the hydraulic rate of the nozzle and increasing the performance of the combustion chamber and the internal combustion engine in terms of power and torque.
