An IM service system and a service continuing method thereof are provided to enable a user to continue an IM service with the other party by transmitting information for a session used by the IM service to the other terminal of the user during the IM service and automatically setting a session to the other terminal. An IM server(300) sets an IM session among user computers(100) including an IM program and stores IM session information as a message type. An IM session maintenance setting part(400) transmits the IM session information received from the IM server to a mobile terminal(600) by using mobile terminal information set to one of the user computers. If a message is received from the mobile terminal, the IM session maintenance setting part transmits the message to the IM server. A mobile terminal connection controller(500) continues the IM session between the user computers and the mobile terminal by linking with the IM session maintenance setting part and the mobile terminal. |
