#CMT# #/CMT# Use of a lipophilic antioxidant as active principle for the preparation of a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition to maintain and/or reinforce the protective and reparative native function of eye contour lipophilic structures, eye contour adipose tissues, eyelid adipose tissues or periocular zone adipocytes, is new. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is included for cosmetic treatment of the lipophilic structures of eye contour comprising administering the above composition topically or orally, to maintain and/or reinforce the protective and/or reparative function of the structures. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The lipophilic antioxidant is useful as active principle for the preparation of a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition, to maintain and/or reinforce the protective and reparative native function of lipophilic structures of eye contour adipose tissues deposited on the lower eyelids, preferably periocular zone adipocytes, and eye contour adipose tissues (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The lipophilic antioxidant composition is devoid of the discomforts like tugging, heating or tingling, or a dry feeling in the periocular zone. #CMT#PHARMACEUTICALS : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The lipophilic antioxidant comprises vitamins and provitamins, carotenoids (preferred), retinoids, non-saponifiable agents, polyunsaturated fatty acids and/or glycyrrhetinic acid or their derivatives or precursors. The lipophilic antioxidant is present at less than 10 (preferably at 0.001-0.01) wt.% of the composition. The antioxidant is carotenoid such as beta-carotene, lycopene (both preferred), lutein, astaxanthin, beta -cryptoxanthin and/or zeaxanthin. The lipophilic antioxidant is in a nanoencapsulated form. The lipophilic antioxidant is associated with hydrophilic active principle e.g. vitamins, enzymatic systems, agents trapping/sequestering metal ions, polyphenols, anthocyanins, plant extract complex, minerals and oligoelements, polysaccharides, hydrocolloids and/or glycosaminoglycanes, present at less than 5 (preferably at 0.001-0.1) wt.% of the composition. The lipophilic antioxidant is associated with natural component analogs of tears, preferably amino acids, peptides, ions or salts, immunoprotectors, antistaminics, antiseptics, healing agents and/or blue dyes. #CMT#ADMINISTRATION : #/CMT# Administration of the lipophilic antioxidant (composition) is oral or topical (claimed).
