#CMT# #/CMT# The rear floor section (1) is connected to the front floor section by a step formed by a rising front floor panel (2) and a hollow folded sheet metal beam (11) that runs across the whole of the width of the floor's rear section. The rising part of the front floor section has no reinforcement and is fixed directly to the cross beam, which has a square or rectangular cross-section. The upper surface (11a) of the beam forms an extension to the forward edge (1a)of the rear floor section, and its front face (11b) adjoins the upper edge (2a) of the front floor rising floor panel, the beam being welded to both edges. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Joint between motor vehicle front and rear floor sections. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The hollow transverse beam avoids the need for complicated rear panel reinforcement. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a cross-section of the joint between front and rear floor panels. 1 : Rear floor panel 2 : Rising section of front floor panel 1a, 2a : Panel edges 11 : Hollow transverse beam 11a, 11b : Beam upper and front faces.
|
