PROCESS FOR PRODUCING N-VINYLCARBAZOLE COMPOUND

A process for producing an N-vinylcarbazole compound, which has no danger caused by the use of high-pressure conditions or an explosive substance and is less apt to have a problem concerning a post-treatment, e.g., a treatment of a waste derived from a by-product, and by which the target compound can be efficiently produced by a continuous method suitable for industrial use. The process is characterized by subjecting an N-(2-hyrdoxyethyl)carbazole compound in a gas phase to an intramolecular dehydrating reaction in the presence of a catalyst to convert it into an N-vinylcarbazole compound.
