<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved shaft drive for a weaving machine having one or plural heddle shaft. <P>SOLUTION: The heddle shaft (1) is obtained by combining a traditional heddle machine (2) with an eccentric gear to decrease occurred acceleration by intentionally dwelling for a longer time in the upper and lower side reversing regions. This permits an increase of the weaving speed and/or the weaving widths. For a particularly advantageous embodiment, a coupling device is additionally provided, which gives the heddle shaft (1) a pendulum movement with a stroke ranging from a few millimeters to a few centimeters during the idle phase, that is, when no shed is formed. As a result of the pendulum movement of the heddle shaft (1) in the upper and lower side reversing regions, the acceleration loads on the heddle shaft (1) can be further reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
