<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely, easily and efficiently producing a large quantity of a chitin/chitosan-containing polysaccharide compared to production methods using conventional microorganisms. <P>SOLUTION: The method for safely, easily and efficiently producing a large quantity of a chitin/chitosan-containing polysaccharide is provided, comprising culturing and proliferating Geotrichum bacteria in a liquid medium. A fibrous product containing a large amount of the chitin/chitosan-containing polysaccharide is provided, being in the form of a multi-laminated structure. The fibrous product thus obtained can be used as a food material, a cosmetic material, a medical material, a cell-culturing sheet serving as a foothold in culturing totipotent stem cells or multipotent stem cells, or a drug carrier in DDS(drug delivery system). This fibrous polysaccharide-containing product, because of being in the form of a multi-laminated structure, can be put to a simple process to be formed into nonwoven fabrics or sheets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
