[Also in Division D1] Nitrogen-containing polymers are obtained by reacting 2-hydroxyalkylacrylic esters of formula where R1 and R2 are hydrogen or aliphatic radicals, with polyamines whose nitrogen atoms are attached to adjacent nitrogen atoms through one or two aliphatic radicals. In examples the esters are glycol monoacrylate, 2-hydroxyethylacrylic ester, 2-hydroxypropylacrylic ester and 2-hydroxypropylmethacrylic ester, and the polyamines are dipropylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine and N-methyldipropylenetriamine. Uses.-As leveling agents in dyeing processes and as flocculants and precipitants.
