PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat seal device for a container for heat-sealing an upper opening part of the container stored in a machine casing by a tray advancing/retracting to/from a casing front face side with a film unwound from a film rolled web which is capable of reliably and easily arranging the film on the upper opening part of the container. SOLUTION: In the heat seal device for the container, a rear clip block 7 for holding a film 12 between a front clip block 53 fixed to a container receiving tray 5 and itself is provided in a longitudinally slidable manner on the container receiving tray 5 advancing/retracting to/from the front face side of the casing. The film 12 is held between the front and rear clip blocks 53 and 7 by the operation of accommodating the container receiving tray 5 in the casing from the position projecting to the front face side of the casing, and arranged on an opening peripheral edge 11a of the container 11.
