PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient handheld microwave imaging device, and its method. SOLUTION: The device includes an antenna array (50) having a plurality of antenna elements (80) in which respective direction coefficients can be programmed to cause microwave irradiation to direct toward a target (155) associated with an object (150) and the respective direction coefficients can be further programmed to receive reflective microwave irradiation reflected from the target (155), a processor (100) capable of measuring the intensity of the reflective microwave irradiation and calculating a voxel value in a microwave image of the target (150) created by the processor (100), and a support structure (20) having a first part (25b) in which the antenna array (50) is mounted and a second part (25c) including a handle (30) permitting a user to operate the imaging device (10) to move.
