PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounting connector which can be miniaturized by easily and reliably enhancing fastening strength with a simple structure, and its surface mounting method. SOLUTION: This surface mounting connector is composed of one connector 2 mounted on the surface of a substrate 3 and the other connector 1 connected to the one connector 2, and a holding part 5 to hold the connector 2 on the substrate 3 when it is connected to the one connector 2 is provided on the other connector 1. When the one connector 2 mounted on the surface of the substrate 3 is connected to the other connector 1, the connector 2 is held on the substrate 3 by the holding part 5 provided on the the other connector 1.
