摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip for controlling an ultrathin liquid, applicable for observation with an electron microscope by forming an ultrathin liquid layer. SOLUTION: The strip comprises a plate 11. The plate 11 has at least one observation aperture 12 which is categorized into an upper aperture wall 121 and an under aperture wall 123. A hydrophobic material 14 is applied on the upper aperture wall 121 and a hydrophilic material 16 is applied on the under aperture wall 123. A height of the under aperture wall 123 with a high hydrophilic property is 50μm or less, and both end faces of the plate 11 are applied with the hydrophobic material 14 to obtain an hydrophobic property. Since the under aperture wall 123 is highly hydrophilic, it absorbs the liquid and forms the ultrathin liquid layer 18 after the liquid is poured from the observation aperture 12. In contrast, the upper aperture wall 121 is less hydrophilic, therefore does not absorb the liquid. Consequently, the plate 11 which generates the ultrathin liquid layer 18 can be provided.
