PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell of high energy efficiency, capable of smoothly discharging water or other liquids generated during operation and adhered to electrode. SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1 is formed into a battery stack, by pinching unit cells 10 with separators 20 and are plural and serially combining them. The separator 20 has an anode side face facing an anode electrode 15 and a cathode side face facing a cathode electrode 16, and flow passage grooves 23, 25 are formed on both faces, respectively. A plurality of protrusion parts 50, protruding toward cathode electrode 16 side, are formed in the flow passage groove 25 in the extending direction of the flow passage groove 25 at prescribed intervals. Because of this, when oxidant gas is supplied to the flow passage groove 25, the oxidant gas impinges against the protrusion parts 50, becomes a turbulent current, guided toward the cathode electrode 16 side, and water or methanol adhered on a surface of the cathode electrode 16 are swept away.
