PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw fluid machine free from local abnormal temperature rise when used as a vacuum pump or a compression pump, and to provide a screw gear suitable for the screw of the screw fluid machine. SOLUTION: The screw fluid machine comprises a male rotor 101 and a female rotor 102 meshing with each other, a casing storing both rotors, a fluid operation chamber formed by the male and female rotors and the casing, and a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet provided in the casing in communication with one end and the other end of the operation chamber, respectively. The torsional angles of the screw gears as parts of the male and female rotors are continuously changed with the progress of torsion. The rolling peripheral length of a pitch cylinder of each of the screw gears 101a, 102a in the direction of the progress of torsion is substantially represented by a monotonous increase function in the development view of a tooth rolling curve on the diameter of the pitch cylinder.
