PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method which can cope with the casting of molten steel of a plurality of kinds of steel, and can produce cast slabs having high quality, and further to provide a casting mold for continuous casting using the continuous casting method. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method for casting slabs by pouring and solidifying molten steel 12 into a cavity 11 formed inside the cooling member 13 of a casting mold 10 for continuous casting while vibrating the casting mold 10 for continuous casting in the vertical direction, either one or both of the frequency and the amplitude of the vibration of the casting mold 10 for continuous casting are varied for every kind of steel to be cast, and the heat to be transferred from the molten steel 12 to the cooling member 13 is controlled so as to make the contraction of the solidified shell of different kinds of steel substantially equal.
