<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus that can reduce stress applies to a two-component developer owing to rotating operation of an agitating member to suppress deterioration of the two-component developer. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device which conveys the two-component developer consisting of a magnetic body carrier and toner while agitating it by rotating agitating members 11 and 12, and also conveys part of the two-component developer onto a surface of an image carrier to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier is equipped with a density detecting means 15 of detecting the density of the two-component developer and a control means of controlling rotational accelerations of the agitating devices 11 and 12 at the start of the developing operation according to the density of the two-component developer before the start of the developing operation detected by the density detecting means 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
