摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a plastic optical fiber reduced in bend loss. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical outer clad part 11 is formed by melt-extrusion molding using polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) with a content ratio of≥4% unmatched coupling in which monomers of different positions are coupled with each other, relative to matched coupling in which monomers of the same positions are coupled with each other. Next, an inner clad part-forming material is infused and polymerized to form a cylindrical inner clad part 12, and then, into its hollow part, a core part-forming material is infused and polymerized to form a core part 14, thereby making a preform 15. This preform 15 is heated and withdrawn, so that a POF 16 (Plastic Optical Fiber) with a desired diameter is obtained. The POF 16 has a small crystalline size and has an outer clad with an average roughness Ra of the inner wall face less than 0.1μm; therefore, bend loss by bending is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p>
