A binocular microscope arrangement intended for use in the examination of small surgical sites or for checking small workpieces comprises a microscope 5 connected via a cord 1 and pulleys 2 to a counterweight 3, a head harness 6 for a viewer and means such as a releasable magnetic hinged fastening 9, 10 for connecting the harness and microscope together, whereby in use the microscope is moved by movement of the viewer's head. To avoid tilting, two webs 19 are rigidly connected to a mounting support 22 which embraces microscope 5 and carries two lamps 21 (only one being shown). The position of the microscope 5 which has conical eye-pieces 25 and is rotatable about its optical axis on a ball-bearing 23 may be adjusted relative to the viewer by movement along rods 13 and 16. The various adjusting elements e.g. knob 17 may be removable or replaceable for sterilization. |
