PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core wire for an Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconductive wire and the Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconductive wire which can be manufactured at a low cost, in which high critical current density can be achieved, and which has high distortion resistance and superior mechanical strength, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: An Sn-Zn alloy rod 3 having a Cu covering 2 is housed inside an Nb tube 1, while a Cu layer 4 is formed on the outside of the Nb tube 1 to fabricate a single core wire, and after the single core wire is cut into a standard length after thinning, a plurality of single core wires are dispersed between Cu tube and Cu core, compounded to become a multi-cored wire, which is heat treated after thinning so that Sn and Nb are made to react to form Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn.
