PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can continue displaying an image even when a light source fails. SOLUTION: As a light source, it comprises: LEDs for R, G, B; photo-sensors for detecting the lighting states of the respective light sources; and an image creating means 440 for creating an image frame based on an input image data signal, and an image projecting part 300 projects the created image frame. When lighting of an LED of any one color is poor, the image creating means 440 converts the color data of the poorly lighting color among the color data of the input image data into the color data of the other colors lighting effectively, and creates an image frame displayable with the colors of the LEDs lighting effectively.
